The hot new feature, besides the size, is a MagicFlip I/O port panel, technology that hides the notebook's various ports when not in use. On that list is USB 3.0, HDMI, and a Thunderbolt port.

As for the Acer Always Connect feature, the Aspire S5 can be woken up from a remote device like a smartphone.
